An Argentine prosecutor denounced Maradona’s medical team…

The prosecutor charged Diego Armando Maradona with medical staff about 18 months after the death of an Argentine football legend, charged with “involuntary manslaughter”, which in Argentina carries up to 25 years in prison.

Among the suspects are Maradona’s personal doctor Leopoldo Luke, his psychiatrist Agustina Kosachev, as well as a psychologist, another doctor, a medical coordinator of the health plan and three nurses. According to the newspaper La Nación, everyone denies that he behaved badly.

Maradona died at age 60 in a private home north of Buenos Aires on November 25, 2020, a few weeks after undergoing brain surgery. Investigators said huge mistakes had been made in caring for the former World Cup champion, who was in critical condition.

“La mano de Dios”, Argentina’s second world title in Mexico ’86 will always be remembered. At club level, Maradona made an extraordinary career with Napoli, having been with Barca, where he won his first two Serie A titles with the Italian national team (1987 and 1990).
