Dragons boss Dai Flanagan said he will take internal action alongside match director Dan Bo after he laid hands on referee Ben Whitehouse.
During the Rugby Championship victory over the Ospreys, referee Whitehouse removed Bowe from carrying water duties after he tried to grab the referee’s arm.
The Dragons have been in contact with both the URC and the Welsh Rugby Union and it is currently unclear whether any external action will be taken against the former Canada international. However, while Bouch traveled with the club on their two-game tour to South Africa, he was removed from his regular duties on the water for Saturday’s match against the Sharks in Durban.
“We’ve had conversations, but obviously I’m not sure where this is all going,” Flanagan said. – As long as there is a ban or there is no ban, we will resolve it ourselves anyway.
“I just know it was discussed at home, I know Dan called and apologised, obviously also to the union because we represent the WRU and there were some conversations as well.”
And he added: “The behavior of my coaching staff and my players represents me, Dan knows very well that you cannot touch the referee.
“He (Beau) and Ben (Whitehouse) have been away for a long time, Dan spoke to Ben this week, called him on Monday. I believe Dan was his coach at S & C during the periods when Dan was at Union and Ben was the Union referee.
“Dan is also very aware that he can’t do what he did, we fixed it at home. There are consequences, agreed between Dan and us, that you cannot do this, that is very clear to me.”
“What Dan and I talked about, I’m going to keep to myself because, like I said, it represents me.”
