AC Milan came up late but took full advantage against Frosinone

After Juventus took the lead by beating Monza on Friday, only AC Milan attacked the top clubs on Saturday. Serie A’s third-place finishers did not initially have an easy time with newly promoted Frosinone, but they eventually won 3-1.

The spell was only broken at the end of the first half. Luka Jovic, who had a fortune of 60 million euros in 2019 but was taken over from Fiorentina for 8 million euros last summer, calmly accepted the suddenly dropped ball and scored his first goal for his new boss.

Having hit the post with an assist from Yunus Musah a few minutes earlier, the home team had a good escape when defender Fikayo Tomori lost the ball and Marvin Cuni charged at Mike Maignan. However, the French goalkeeper was not fooled by the Albanian defense.

Assist goalkeeper Maignan

Five minutes after the break, Maignan was the one who made the score 2-0. American Christian Pulisic expertly took his long free kick and marked his 200th match on European soil with a beautiful goal.

After Tomori had made a positive impact on de Jovic’s pass and put his team 3-0 ahead from close range, Marco Brescianini saved the visitors with a free kick that was intended to be a cross but did not honor the goalkeeper. To Maignan’s surprise, no one touched him.
