Quinones fined for ‘inappropriate’ celebration

The Disciplinary Commission of Liga MX decided to impose financial sanctions on Club America player Julián Andrés Quiñones Quiñones.

He was found to have inappropriately celebrated a goal during the second leg of the Liga MX quarter-final of the 2023 Apertura tournament between Club America and Leon.

“Players and/or members of the Coaching Staff who celebrate a goal or victory in a match with excessive, inappropriate, obscene, insulting, rude, ridiculing or downright unsportsmanlike behavior, gestures or gestures towards an opponent or the public at large, whether or not seen referee or not, they will be sanctioned.”

Liga MX rules state that this sanction carries a fine of up to 1,500 UMA, equivalent to 155,610 pesos.
