The Italian Anti-Doping Prosecutor’s Office (NADO) on Thursday demanded a four-year ban on Juventus Torino French midfielder PAul Pogba, who tested positive for testosterone after the match against Udinese on August 20.
The French midfielder, 2018 world champion with his country’s national team, tested positive again in the counter-analysis carried out in September and remained temporarily suspended while NADO investigated the events.
While there was speculation that Pogba’s defense had reached an agreement to avoid a trial, the request from the Public Prosecution Service indicates that the former Manchester United player, who returned to Juventus in 2022, must go to court and that a long sentence could end his sporting career prematurely.
According to various Italian media, the French midfielder tested positive in the counter analysis for a new substance called dhea or dehydroepiandrosterone, also known as the ‘youth hormone’.

Immediately on the same day, the National Anti-Doping Court ordered his suspension, charging him with a violation of Codes 2.1 and 2.1 of the Sporting Regulations, which sanction the use and even attempted consumption of banned substances.
