Ospreys defender Sam Parry had a weekend to remember, winning an important European rugby match before heading to hospital with his Ospreys team to collect his new baby.

Parry, who played seven games against Wales, was involved in the Ospreys’ 43-34 victory over Benetton in Swansea on Saturday afternoon. And immediately after leaving, the Haverfordwest man went straight to hospital as his partner Caryl had given birth to a baby just days earlier. The 31-year-old posted the following message to his Instagram Story: “Right after the Ospreys big win last night to bring my son home.” Parry was still dressed in his Osprey uniform as he escorted his son out of the hospital.

A very happy Sam Parry.

Friends of the rugby rower took to the comments section to congratulate the couple. Joe Hawkins, Dan Lydiat and Sam Costelow sent their best wishes, among many others.

The Ospreys face Montpellier in the next Challenge Cup round, where Parry could face Welsh international Henry Thomas in the first clash.
