Junior and a date with his destiny

From the great match Junior 3, Medellín 2, first in the competition final, I keep the first 15 minutes of the match. It was 900 hectic seconds. Like Bacca’s first great goal and Enamorado’s, where the ball went through Varela’s legs.

I also like Enamorado’s shot on Déiber, after 32 minutes, which could have produced a third goal that at that moment would have set the pace of the match to one goal less. I’ll stay with the great team called Medellín. Although he couldn’t equalize the score, he pushed Junior to 2-1 and 3-2. I’m left with Junior’s fight when Coach Reyes had to make five changes.

The level was clearly lowered and Junior ended up playing a match that he played very well before the changes. Reyes managed to overcome every moment for and against and in the end his team won and finished complete.

The departure of Bacca and Enamorado was for protection as they were reprimanded and the game became fast.

That of Cariaco and Didier due to obvious physical problems. That of Castrillón by Wálmer due to altitude problems resulting from the aerial bombardment that Medellín attempted. It is a pity that this substitution could not prevent Varela-Moreno’s double header, which ended in a 3-2 score two minutes before the end.

I prefer the adjustments of Dim, Moreno, Plata and Chaverra, who gave him a second wind and put Junior in trouble at several moments, despite losing Cetré and Pons to blows.

I stick with Olivera, who we saw looked better and overcame moments that are sometimes inevitable in football and in life.

Junior could have won by a bigger margin. But they won, and in the second leg Medellín will be at a disadvantage. It’s your job to win. It’s enough for Barranquilla’s team to draw.

The final game is coming. It’s Junior’s date with the tenth star.
