OM demands one-year prison sentence for Tadic’s failed robbery, suspect denies

“I have nothing to do with this incident,” says 20-year-old Muhammed F. However, the prosecutor wants the Amsterdam resident to remain in prison for a year. The suspect is said to have been involved in the botched robbery of former Ajax player Dusan Tadic.

Tadic was slightly injured in the robbery attempt near his home in Amsterdam on the night of 27-28 July 2022. As the football player got out of his car, he saw two men wearing helmets and dark clothes approaching him. Tadic ran away, but the men chased him on a scooter.

Tadic was crushed and held by the throat. He managed to escape after a short struggle. The football player suffered a slight head injury.

The robbers, who were probably after an expensive watch, took nothing with them.

The common suspect was already convicted

The police went after the suspects using images from surrounding security cameras. It was seen that the men waited for half an hour for the Serbian, who now plays football for Fenerbahçe. A sign was later found under Tadic’s car.

The suspect, Mohamed F., 26, from Amsterdam, was sentenced to six months in prison, two of which were conditional, for public violence in February. This case is still under appeal.

The court will give its decision regarding F.’s case on January 2.
