Team Jackson took the victory in the final minutes of the Basket Directo All Star Game, with a score of 67-65, against Team Chiquillo, at the basketball court of the Gran Malecón del Río, in Barranquilla.
The captain of San Andres himself, Michael Jackson, was the main figure of the effort with extraordinary numbers of 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. The guard received the MVP trophy, a copy of Samario Soren De Luque’s participation in the first appearance of this competition.
Hayner Montaño had the opportunity to send the action to extra time at the end of the match. With a lack of three points and the buzz of the people who had great affinity with their opponents, the man from Cali could only make one of his shots and let out the opportunities to spread the emotions.
The show was stolen by the superpowers that prepared the organization for the game in an unprecedented way. The coaches chose between the option of having a minute where three-pointers counted for four, a minute where dunks counted for x3, shooting a free throw themselves or passing the buck to someone in the crowd, which counted for five, although none of the selected fans took their chance.
The players also showed no composure. Since then, they shined in an engagement full of intensity and furious dunks that brought the crowds in attendance at this all-star game to their feet.
Andrés Carmona, together with Jhon Hernández himself (14 points and 4 rebounds), were the figures for the Dutch team. The Antioquian registered one of the best participations in the history of this match with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Montaño was one of the standouts (almost double-double of 13 points and 8 rebounds).
Michael Jackson and Alejandro Minota led their team, both with 13 units. The same scoring ruble for the Bolivarian Yesid Mosquera (13 points and 2 rebounds).
In the end it was all smiles, hugs and photos between the crowd and the players that concluded an unparalleled spectacle on the banks of the Magdalena River. This culminated in the second edition of the Basket Directo All Star Game, which could also move to other locations in the national territory to bring the Colombian basketball festival to the entire country.
