Anthony Joshua Fights Illegal Streaming Warning

There will be those who will try to avoid the £19.99 fee for the Anthony Joshua fight by seeking out illegal streams, but this is fraught with danger, from hidden viruses to identity theft caused by the disclosure of personal information such as email addresses. and bank details that were used to unlock access to the stream.

A new study from anti-piracy organization FACT found that almost 47 percent of people in the UK have shared or would be willing to share details to access illegal streams. And in the survey, one in three men said they had experienced or been the victim of online fraud as a result of illegal streaming.

Not to mention it can lead to serious criminal charges. Earlier this year, Stephen Mills, 58, was jailed for two and a half years for masterminding an illegal Premier League streaming service that gained more than 30,000 subscribers and £1 million.

Speaking about the dangers of illegal streaming services, FACT chief executive Kieron Sharp told The Mirror: “Not only do these platforms breach copyright laws, they are also hotbeds for criminal activity.

“This can have serious consequences such as malware, fraud and identity theft. “It is imperative that consumers understand the dangers of illegal streaming and stay away from such platforms.”
