Disappointment in the Netherlands: Handball players go to Spain for qualifying matches

Dutch handball players must travel to Spain in April to participate in the Olympic Games in Paris. OKT will be completed in Torrevieja.

Giving the task to Spain was a minor setback for the Dutch Handball Federation, which wanted to bring the organization to our country, because this was going to be a nice dress rehearsal for the World Cup that the Netherlands will organize together with Germany in 2025.

The Netherlands will face the Czech Republic, Argentina and Spain in Torrevieja from 11 to 14 April; Coincidentally, the Dutch team also faced and lost in the World Cup group stage earlier this month. The two best countries in the group of four in OKT will qualify to participate in the games.

The Netherlands placed fifth at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo, while the team also finished its last World Championships there. They lost to world champion Norway in the quarter-finals, while Norway narrowly managed to extend their championship against Olympic champion France in the final.
