Luka Doncic surpassed the 10,000 point mark in the NBA at the age of 24. The Slovenian player from the Dallas Mavericks became the fifth youngest and sixth fastest player to achieve this feat.
On Monday night, Doncic had 50 points, 15 assists and 6 rebounds in a 128-114 win over the Phoenix Suns. Doncic reached the milestone with his style. At the end of the first quarter, he made a three-pointer from ten meters.

“He’s one of the best players in the world,” said Jason Kidd, Doncic’s coach with the Mavericks. “If he has the right feel, we have to make sure he gets the ball as often as possible.”
It took Doncic 358 NBA games to reach 10,000 points. In doing so, he put himself on par with NBA Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo, who played 358 games in the 1970s. Doncic and McAdoo are seventh on the list.
Before Doncic, more than 250 players in the NBA had reached 10,000 points. George Mikan came first in 1955/56.
At 24 years and 300 days old, Doncic became the sixth youngest player to reach this milestone. Only LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony and Tracy McGrady were younger than the Slovenian.
Doncic scores an average of 27.98 points per game in the NBA. Only Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain averaged better.
The young Slovenian player has made great strides in the last two seasons, averaging more than 32 points per game. If he maintains these numbers, Doncic will reach 20,000 points in four years.
