Sergio Canales will be able to play with Rayados after he is not punished

The controversial Administrative Court No. 4 of Madrid found that the player’s appeal Sergio Canales against sanction which he received last season while playing for Real Betis for saying his sending off against Cadiz in the league was deliberate by the referee Antonio Mateu Laos.

Disciplinary authorities Spanish Football Federation The RFEF handed Canales four matches and a €601 fine in March this year after claiming at the end of a match against Valladolid on February 18 that former referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz had deliberately sent him off in a match against Cadiz played in October.

The offer he had access to EFEunderstands that the principles of typicality, guilt and the presumption of innocence of Canales were violated, motivated by an error in the expression and interpretation of the player’s statements.

Following this decision, Canales will be able to compete with Rayados de Monterrey in the 2024 Clausura without any sanctions.

The player went to the regular courts after his appeals were unsuccessful and won a preventive reprieve after he had already served one of his sanctioned matches.

Canales maintained that his behavior “always with the referees on and off the field has been exemplary, showing them the utmost respect throughout my professional career.”

It’s been that way since I made my debut in 2008, and it continues to be that way now in the Mexican League. Therefore, I am glad that justice has prevailed. My conscience has always been very clear because I know that I did not make any mistakes in dealing with the arbitration team. If I did, I would apologize immediately.
