Naoya Inoue is a two-time undisputed champion | Video

Japan’s Naoya Inoue became the second male boxer to become the undisputed champion with four belts in two divisions with a 10th-round knockout against Philippines’ Marlon Tapalés in Tokyo on Tuesday.

Inoue unified the super bantamweight titles as one of the four major sanctioning authorities, capturing the WBA and IBF crowns before hitting and retaining the WBC and WBO belts he won in July.

The 30-year-old Japanese boxer had unified four bantamweight belts with his victory over Paulo Mordomo last year before relinquishing those titles and moving up to his current weight class.

The only other man to achieve this feat is American Terence Crawford, the current undisputed welterweight champion, who previously unified the four major weight belts.

Inoue, the first undisputed Asian champion in two divisions. As a professional, he has 26 wins and 0 losses and became world champion in two other categories after winning the WBC lightweight belt and the WBO junior bantamweight belt.
