Here’s a round-up of the latest news from Cardiff City for Thursday 28th December.

Cardiff “will give everything” in the Leicester City test.

Cardiff City manager Erol Bulut admits Leicester City will be heavy favorites when they visit the capital on Friday night, but expects his team to “give everything” against the Championship leaders.

“We don’t need to say much about Leicester,” the Bluebirds boss said ahead of the clash with the Foxes. “It’s a relegated team, it has quality players and that can be seen on the pitch. But that doesn’t mean the game in three days, everyone thinks everything will go in one direction.”

“I have plenty [results against teams top of the league]. Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, I have many. We will give everything to get points against Leicester, three if possible. But you have to see what you have in your hand and what your opponent has.

“In comparison, you have to ask yourself. When we are focused like we did against Leicester (away from home), we can win the game. At 90+2 they managed to score, but next time it could be different.

“It was clear (they would be the better team) because they kept all the players. Like Leeds. It was clear they wanted to come back. Many teams are fighting for sixth place. We’ll see at the end of the season.

“We are far from the top two. We will try to do everything possible to reach the playoffs. In January we will see what we can do to get closer to these positions.”

Lester got a boost from Pret

Dennis Pret could once again be a candidate for Leicester City’s trip to the Welsh capital.

The Belgian missed the last game against Ipswich Town with a knock, but Foxes manager Enzo Maresca said he will be available on Friday night.

“Dennis lost today because he felt something yesterday (at Christmas) during the session,” Maresca said. “They just told me it wasn’t anything big so I could probably fit in at Cardiff.”

However, Jamie Vardy (knee), Casey McAteer (hamstring) and Mark Albrighton remain sidelined. “They’re still out, all of them. They will leave.”

Ralls – Cardiff, in good spirits before the Leicester test

Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ralls says the Bluebirds head into Friday’s clash against the league leaders in good spirits following their recent unbeaten run.

“It’s going to be a very difficult game: they are the strongest team in the championship,” he said. —Instead, we played very well against them. We were disappointed to lose the game in the last minute, so we can be sure of that.

“We are unbeaten in some games, we had good performances and some decent results, so we went into the game in good spirits.

“We know it will be a very difficult test, but at home we have to be confident that we can come here and get a result. We’re looking forward to it.”
