Rohan Dennis, former world cycling champion, accused of murdering his wife

Australian cyclist Rohan Dennis, world time trial champion in 2018 and 2019, was arrested in Australia on Sunday in connection with the fatal collision of his wife, fellow cyclist Melissa Hoskins, according to ABC.

South Australian police announced in a statement this Sunday the arrest of a 33-year-old man accused of reckless driving causing death, among other things, and released him provisionally pending a court hearing on March 13.

Authorities said they went to a residence in the city of Adelaide, in the south of the country, on Saturday afternoon after a woman’s accident.

The 32-year-old victim was seriously injured and taken to a hospital, where he died.

Following the investigation, the police, who in their statement avoided identifying those involved and did not specify the circumstances, proceeded to file charges against the man.

The public channel ABC published that the arrested cyclist is Rohan Dennis and the deceased is his wife, whom he married in 2018 and with whom he had two children.
