Wrexham’s clash with Barrow was halted for 10 minutes on Saturday afternoon due to a head injury to visiting player David Worrall.

The two teams met at the speedway and were both in good form, but the game was stopped in the 11th minute when Worrell was involved in a terrifying clash of heads.

Doctors came to the field to help the player. He was treated for 10 minutes before being replaced by Luca Stephenson. Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds was quick to send his best wishes to Worrell, tweeting: “Hope David Worrell is ok”, accompanied by two prayer emojis.

Barrow were leading at that point in the match after Cian Spence had put the visitors ahead with just 33 seconds on the clock. The game resumed in the 21st minute after a medical break for Worrall.

The Reds then attacked mercilessly, scoring three times through Stephen Fletcher (twice) and Paul Mullin.

A win would move the North Wales club into second place in League Two.
