Cardiff currently have five players on loan at the club and will likely look at options to reduce that number to make space and welcome at least one new player on loan this winter window.

Bogard started 18 times for the Gas in the first half of the season but his playing time was reduced when Matt Taylor took over following Joey Barton’s dismissal last month.

The Dutchman joined Aston Villa from Feyenoord in 2020 and has made six appearances in all competitions for the Premier League side.
