At the age of 38, Luka Modric is in his twelfth season at Real Madrid and last Sunday he celebrated the Spanish Super Cup title, achieving 24 official trophies with the ‘Merengue’ shirt.

However, the Croatian midfielder would experience his last months as a Real Madrid player. And according to information from Relevo, Modric would leave the club in June, the month in which his contract expires.

Over the past two summers, Modric has extended his bond with the Chamartín team for another year thanks to the positive performances he continued to show on the field of play.

And although Modric’s idea is to leave, the Real Madrid board does not want to offer him an extension, given his age and the fact that there are six midfielders left in the squad, all younger than the Croatian.

In the current season, Modric scored one goal and five assists, but did not enjoy the fame he was used to since arriving at Real Madrid in August 2012.

If he manages to leave the Santiago Bernabéu this summer, his future could be in Saudi Arabia or the United States, countries that are following the end of the Croatian midfielder’s career.
