Formula 1 Stewards they ordered three-time Red Bull World Champion, Max Verstappen is doing ‘work in the public interest’ after he swore during the Singapore Grand Prix press conference.
The moderator reminded the Red Bull pilot of his language during a conference organised by the FIA on Thursdayand the stewards called Verstappen on Friday alleged violation of the international sporting code.
In a statement they said that Verstappen apologised for his behaviour and explained that he believed the word was “common in speech when he learned it”.because English is not his native language.”
“While the commissioners acknowledge that this may be true, it is important that role models learn to be mindful when speaking in public forums, particularly when they are not under any particular pressure,” they stressed.
They later added:
The Commissioners note that significant fines have been imposed for speech that is offensive or targeted at specific groups. This is not the case here.
Public works will be carried out in the city. Coordination with the FIA Secretary General on a day to be determined.
Verstappen described the state of his car during qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix last weekend, but the incident came after FIA president Mohamed Ben Sulayem urged drivers to watch their language.
