NBA Dallas Mavericks player Luka Doncic was attacked at his home in the US city of Texas this week without having to report any injuries.
The Dallas Morning News reported this Saturday that Doncic’s home was burglarized Friday by one or more thieves who stole $30,000 worth of jewelry, according to a police report it had access to.
Neither the player nor his family were at home.
Doncic’s representative Lara Beth Seeger confirmed that Doncic and his family are fine, and the Slovenian player has filed a complaint with the police.
The Mavs left Dallas last Thursday for a road trip through New Year’s against the Houston Rockets, although the former Real Madrid star was injured on Christmas Day against the Timberwolves.
Mike Brown fired as Sacramento Kings coach
Sacramento Kings general manager Monte McNair announced Saturday that he has fired Mike Brown as head coach of the California NBA team and named Doug Christie as his interim replacement.
“This was a difficult decision and I want to thank Mike for his many contributions to the organization,” McNair told official NBA media. In that sense, Christie was wrapping up his third season as an assistant coach with the Kings, who sit twelfth in the Western Conference with a 13-18 record and have accumulated five straight losses.
Selected 17th overall by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 1992 draft, Christie played 15 seasons in the NBA and averaged 11.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals per game in 827 games. career (708 starts) for seven different teams.
During his tenure with the Kings from 2000 to 2005, he helped the team reach the postseason in all of those seasons. He was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in the 2002-03 season and to the All-Defensive Second Team in the 2000-01, 2001-02 and 2003-04 seasons. Before joining the Kings as an assistant coach, Christie spent four seasons as the team’s staff analyst from 2017 to 2021.
