Russian President Vladimir Putin received Russian medals from the Olympic Winter Games in Beijing on Tuesday in the Kremlin in Moscow. The games ended on February 22, after which the Russian army invaded Ukraine two days later.
President Vladimir Putin addressed the medalists from a distance.
The Russian team won six gold, twelve silver and fourteen bronze medals in Beijing.
Figure skater Kamila Valieva, who was caught doping, was also present.
Putin said Valieva’s performance would not be affected by doping.
Valieva won a gold medal with Russian skaters at the Nations Cup.
Putin made a toast to the athletes.
