Leicester City and AS Roma have drawn 1-1 in the first semi-final of the Conference League. The energetic Leicester must have felt there was more to do against the Roma who had to defend. The winner of this semi-final will meet Feyenoord or Olympique de Marseille in the final.
Leicester City started furiously at their home stadium King Power Stadium and soon awarded the home side three corners and a free kick from a dangerous spot. After the English storm in the first ten minutes, the Roma became increasingly menacing. Fifteen minutes later this resulted in captain Lorenzo Pellegrini’s lead. He received a farewell pass from Nicola Zalewski and pushed the ball between goalkeeper Schmeichel’s legs.
Leicester didn’t let stability deteriorate and continued the high tempo before conceding a goal. This resulted in countless corners, a dangerous attempt by Ademola Lookman and a handful of shooting opportunities for James Maddison. There was no purpose. The Italians are on Rick Karsdorp’s base and took the break by a margin.
