KNVB and CBV: ‘Stop fake injuries for tactical changes’

The KNVB and the interest association Coaches Professional Football (CBV) jointly oppose the claim that players are injured so that coaches can transfer tactical transformations to the team. According to De Telegraaf’s report, the KNVB confirms that this is happening more and more and organizations want it to stop. They did this at a meeting of CBV members.

According to CBV, it is unsportsmanlike to stop the game in order to change tactics. However, this is also not prohibited and the referees cannot do anything about it. Also, it is sometimes not possible to immediately determine whether a player is actually injured or is pretending.

Dutch referees said they didn’t know what to do with these fake injuries. That is why KNVB and CBV hope that coaches will no longer stop promoting an injury simulation.
