Slot didn’t change the style of play in the semi-finals against Marseille

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot will not change his team’s style of play in the Conference League semifinals against Olympique de Marseille. Even though he expects Marseille to push his Rotterdam team back every now and then, he still wants to play offensively. “We have the right players to counter-attack if we have to go too far back.”

Feyenoord won the match in Rotterdam 3-2 and is looking for a place in Thursday’s final. Defender Gernot Trauner also said his playing style will not change. “We’ve been attacking all season and we’re doing it successfully. We came here for the final, we want to attack and win.”

Trauner says that Feyenoord will return to its own sixteen-meter field. “There will be times when Marseille will have more control, so we have to defend more than last week.” Lock joins later. “Low defense is part of that, but we won’t consciously come in front of the goal.”

Trauner en Slot, the atmosphere in the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille does not affect the game. The coach said: “We often played with fanatical fans in the stadiums. Our fans themselves. It doesn’t change our game,” he said.

Captain Jens Toornstra traveled with the Feyenoord team to Marseille, but it is not yet clear whether he will play. According to Slot, the last training on Wednesday evening will show whether Toornstra can replace him. There is no fundamental place there anyway.
