Feyenoord fans can probably watch the Conference League final against AS Roma on the big screen in De Kuip. Feyenoord wants to open the stadium to visitors on Wednesday 25 May, if the permissions and broadcasting rights are successful.
In the Albanian capital Tirana, only 4,000 fans are allowed to enter Arena Kombëtare to watch the final. The stadium has a capacity of 22,500 seats. Tickets are sold through UEFA.
The two finalists receive a share of the available cards. Fan association FSV De Feijenoder expects about eight thousand Rotterdam fans to travel to Albania, all of whom cannot enter the stadium.
Feyenoord now wants to place large screens in De Kuip so that many fans can see their club’s first European final in two decades.
Five years ago, Feyenoord did that because they could become champions against compatriot Excelsior. In a packed Kuip, the fans saw their team lose 3-0 on the screens. A week later, Feyenoord still won the national championship.
The Conference League final between Feyenoord and AS Roma of coach José Mourinho will start on Wednesday, May 25 at 9 p.m. Feyenoord went to the final fight on Thursday and protected Olympique Marseille 0-0.
