Team test pilot Oscar Piastri flew the A521 at Losail on Wednesday and Thursday. Now Jerry is up against 19-year-old Jack Duhan, who joined the Alpine Academy in January and will race in the FIA Formula 2 Championship for the first time in 2022.
“I am very happy to drive a Formula 1 car for the first time. “This is a moment I’ve been preparing for since I started racing and I know these opportunities are extremely privileged,” Duhan said in a statement from Alpine.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity from Alpine and I am looking forward to giving my best on test day. I’ve seen private behind-the-scenes testing before and completed a lot of training on the Enstone simulator so I really feel the challenge. I will do everything, I will enjoy it at the same time and I hope to learn as much as possible from the team,” he added.
