ILLUMINATED

En route to the final, Van Gerwen defeated world number one Peter Wright 6-1 and Michael Smith 6-5 in a game in a row, in a game in which the Brabandiers came back from a 4-1 deficit.

The next tour will take place in London next Thursday. A week later, the last regular tour is in Newcastle.

Van Gerwen in shape and in a new team

Van Gerwen has been in excellent shape in recent weeks. He was the best at the European Darts Open last weekend. At Leverkusen he defeated Dimitri Van den Bergh, Dirk van Duijvenbode and Clayton, among others. Mighty Mike has won three of the five Euro Tours this year.

Van Gerwen has now announced that he will form a new team with four other Dutch darts players: Raymond van Barneveld, Danny Noppert, Vincent van der Voort and Van Duijenbode. For the next three years they will join forces and knowledge as TOTO Dart Kings.
