PSV must pay a total fine of 50,000 euros for disruptions during last month’s home game against Leicester City in the quarter-finals of the Conference League.
The European football association UEFA announced on Friday that PSV had to pay 25,000 euros for setting off fireworks and 25,000 euros for disturbing public order.
Rival Leicester City were also fined. The English club has to pay 15,000 euros in deductions.
In October, PSV had to pay UEFA € 33,625. The club was later sanctioned by fans for misconduct during the Europa League game against Sturm Graz in Austria in late September. During this game, fans threw objects onto the field, causing damage.
PSV CEO Toon Gerbrands was angry with fans at the time. “We no longer accept people who abuse on behalf of PSV, certainly not by invitation. Tell me about them,” he said in October.
PSV lost 1-2 at home to Leicester City in mid-April, meaning the team was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Conference League. Feyenoord, which had to pay a fine of around 500,000 euros this season for misconduct by fans, will play against AS Roma in the Conference League final two weeks later.
