The NBA officially announced on Wednesday that Jokic is the winner of the MVP of the season 2021-2022 after the chain monday ESPN -and other American media later- expected the star of the Nuggets to be the Most Valuable Player in the league.

Jokic took 875 points with 65 journalists picking him in first place, 27 in second and 6 in third.
For his part, Embiid, from the… Philadelphia 76ers and who was already second in the previous season’s MVP vote last season, got 706 points (26 were chosen as first pick, 39 in second position and 34 in third).
This time there was less margin between Jokic and Embiid, as the previous year the Serb added 971 points and the Cameroonian 586.
On the other hand, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks (595 points), Devin Booker of the phoenix sunbathing (216 points) and Luka Donci of the Dallas Mavericks (146 points) completed the list of the five players who received the most votes to become MVP in this course.
This is the first time in NBA history that there are no Americans in the top three MVP-voted players.
Jokic averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists per game in the regular season.
He also made history this year by becoming the first NBA player to score 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 500 assists in a single season.
