The KNMI assigned a yellow code to the provinces of Gelderland, Noord-Brabant, Overijssel and Limburg on Monday afternoon because of the risk of severe thunderstorms.
Severe thunderstorms may develop in the east of the country on Monday afternoon. This is accompanied by hail and strong winds. The Meteorological Institute reported that traffic and outdoor activities may be hindered.
A depression on Monday brings rain. They migrate from the southwest to the northeast of the country. In the east of the country torrential rains can therefore be accompanied by severe thunderstorms, strong winds and hail.
In the second part of the afternoon torrential rains will leave the country from the northeast. On Monday, the mercury will rise to 23 to 26 degrees Celsius.
After Monday’s showers, it will probably remain dry for a few more days. Tuesday will also be quite warm, but slightly cooler than Monday. A westerly wind keeps the temperature between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius.
