Former Scottish striker Alan Brazil laughed out loud when Ange Postecoglou was named to Celtic in June 2021.
The Celtic talkSPORT breakfast host was not impressed by the club’s decision to replace Neil Lennon with the Aussie last summer.
The decision to let Postecoglou in comes after an unsuccessful two-month hunt for Eddie Howe, who ultimately turned down Celtic’s offer.
At that time, the name of the Celtic gaffer was little known on the English coast.
And Brazil, speaking at the time, rejected this decision.
In Live with Ally McCoist, the chef said at the time: “To be honest, I’m not sure I want to read this. Liquidation?
“Latest news from Scotland, what Poste-coo-gloo (Postecoglou) faces in Europe when Celtic seek UEFA waiver for Yokohama boss Marinos.
“He does not have the professional license required by UEFA. Wow, it must be a purge. ”
McCoist: “What do you think?”
Brazil: “Aww, he will be a great coach. Where did they come from with these guys?
Now appearing on Aussie TV’s “The Front Bar”, Postecglou was finally able to respond to the clip because it punctuated while listening.
A member of the jury commented: “Alan who played for Scotland was Brazilian and has since eaten a modest cake, a good portion.” he said.
A second MC added: “It must be pretty fun meeting guys like this, you proved them wrong, they totally changed your tune and now not only them but the fans are signing your compliments too.”
They then played a clip of the Celtic band singing of the Australian before the talk show host 2 added: “This is great for someone who came to Glasgow in May and had to participate in a witness protection program.
“You have to feel a great sense of joy when this is the reaction from below.”
Postecglou: “Yes, there are things there, Mick.
“First of all, even before I accepted the job they told me that when you were manager of Celtic, half of Glasgow loved you and the other half absolutely hated you.
