Thibaut Courtois was voted man of the match in the Champions League final that Real Madrid beat Liverpool at the Stade de France in Paris.
The Belgian goalkeeper made six interventions of great merit that kept Real Madrid in the game at all times. The goalkeeper fired in the first half at Sadio Mane who hit the post when the score was 0-0 and then avoided two heads up from Mohamed Salah, who fell desperately to the ground with Courtois’ success.
Courtois was one of the first to thank Madrid fans for their support and walked to the stands where he was his own. He raised his hands to his face first, in emotion, and later raised his arms to cheer the audience.
Courtois succeeds N’golo Kante in honor of this award, who won him last season when Chelsea defeated Manchester City in Porto.
