Bloemendaal prevented Pinoké from a stunt and won his 22nd national title

Bloemendaal became Dutch champion for the third time in a row – no title was awarded in 2020 because of the crown – and 22nd time overall. The Oranje Truien had won the first game of the final against Pinoké on Thursday and also won at ‘t Kopje: 3-0.

It was a blow to Pinoké, who made his first appearance in the play-off final and only saw the reigning champion come 3-3 on Thursday. It went wrong again for the team from Amsterdam in the penalty shootout.

The match at Bloemendaal started well with opportunities for the home team, which Pinoké goalkeeper Hidde Brink had noticed well. However, the Amsterdam guests did not hide and also used Alexander Hendrickx’s first penalty.

In the eleventh minute Daan Bonhof placed a loose ball from behind, after which Floris Wortelboer entered the rim and hit the ball hard. There, Roel Bovendeert manages to open the goal with a punch, despite being wedged between two defenders.

Shortly after the start of the second quarter, Pinoké had to continue at ten o’clock, as Jannis van Hattum was eliminated for two minutes after a foul. Bloemendaal took advantage of the redundancy to distance himself further, but that was mainly due to a miss by Niek Merkus, who suddenly released Bovendeert for Brink. He had no chance in the hit that followed: 2-0.

At the end of the second quarter Pinoké was allowed to take two more penalty corners. In the first, Belgian specialist Hendrickx, who wrote a double on Thursday, was not on the field and Luca Wolff’s attempt on the viscous floor was diverted by goalkeeper Maurits Visser, while in the second the ball could not be stopped well. Marlon Landbrug shot just before half-time from just outside Bloemendaal’s goal.

rare offers

After the break, the game went back and forth, but the chances were scarce. Tom Hiebendaal knocked out Pinoké with his stick after a pass from Casper van der Veen, but got the ball from Brink against the side nets.

At the end of the third quarter, Pinoké had three excellent opportunities to bring in Bloemendaal, but Hendrickx hit the foot of the spur twice and the ball bounced off Merkus’ stick on the third attempt.

ten men

But Pinoké didn’t want to give up and kept fighting for every yard. After Glenn Schuurman’s green card, Jesse Mahieu’s side was also allowed to try another man, but that failed. You actually had to pay attention at the guest desk. For example, Thierry Brinkman and Hiebendaal were unable to complete a move properly.

On the other hand, Miles Bukkens created the danger and Hendrickx failed to place Pinoké behind Visser in the seventh corner in the afternoon. The matter was settled when Pieter Sutorius was later sent off with a yellow card and Amsterdam had to end the game at 10 AM. It was especially important for the one-year-olds, as Tim Swaen made it 3-0 with 2 minutes to go.
