The Major Division of Colombian Professional Soccer (Dimayor) announced this Thursday, after completing the BetPlay II-2022 League Competition Board, the championship system that will be used for the second tournament of the year and the final dates, which were scheduled for the at the end of November, in the middle of the World Cup in Qatar.
After the virtual meeting, attended by all the local rental clubs, it was decided that for the second semester, the championship model currently played in the I-2022 League will be repeated, with an ‘All against all’ phase, which will take 20 dates. – two of the classics – and the definition through semifinal home runs, from which the leaders of each group will qualify for the championship final, which will be played in round-trip matches.
The ‘Everything against everyone’ phase will kick off on the weekend of July 9 and 10, while the League II-2022 final will be played on November 30, amid the World Cup in Qatar, which will run from November 21 to Dec 18.
The champion will receive a direct quota for the 2023 Copa Libertadores, as well as the winner of the current championship. The other quotas for the maximum continental tournament are for the winner of the Colombia Cup and the best of the reclassification who did not become champions of either of the two tournaments.
