NAC Breda appoints Molenaar as new manager, assistant to club icon Lokhoff

Robert Molenaar will be the new head coach of NAC Breda. He succeeds Edwin de Graaf at Keuken Kampioen Divisie club, who had to leave after a disappointing season. Club icon Ton Lokhoff becomes one of his sidekicks.

Molenaar signed a one-year contract. The 53-year-old took charge of the promising side of Bredenaars last season. MPs Lokhoff and Rogier Molhoek also signed for a year.

NAC will be Molenaar’s fifth club as head coach of professional football. He started his coaching career at FC Volendam in 2015 and later represented Roda JC and Almere City FC.

“I consider it a privilege to be the head coach of such a great club and to lead a team under new owners who carry the DNA of NAC,” said former FC Volendammer RBC Roosendaal, Leeds United and Bradford City.

Lokhoff, who resigned as coach at NAC a year ago due to his dissatisfaction, will return to the club where he played and coached in the past. In addition to his assistant role, he will also scout from Breda, 62.

NAC qualified for the Culinary Championships Division play-offs last season with great difficulty. In this, the people from Brabant were eliminated in the first round by ADO Den Haag.
