Nacional 3, Tolima 1: the greens struck first

Atlético Nacional caresses the league title. The green team struck first in the first round of the battle for the highest honors by beating Deportes Tolima 3-1 this Wednesday night at the packed Atanasio Girardot stadium in Medellín.

Ánderson Plata gave the ‘Pijaos’ the lead on minute 23, but the hosts turned the score around.

Danovis Banguero, in a foul by Alexánder Domínguez against a controllable shot by Yerson Candelo, at minute 43, reached a tie before closing the first leg.

Nacional captured the lead goal in a moment of inspiration for Candelo, who recovered a ball in the center of the field and from there defeated Domínguez in the 71st minute.

There is great credit to the winger with his surprise and precision, but a big mistake from Domínguez, who had to be more attentive to defend his goal.

The match looked set to finish 2-1, but Andrés ‘el Rifle’ Andrade took advantage of a quick purslane transition to score the third minute (90+3) in the third minute of the addition.

Tolima played a good first half, took the lead and kept Nacional at a distance from the Ecuadorian goalkeeper’s blunder.

In the second period, the hosts improved offensively, had more clarity and caused more problems for the ‘Pijaos’.

Those directed by Hernán Darío Herrera, outside the process of the match, were as powerful as the semifinal home runs. Tolima did not react well, the changes did not bring him any results and he blundered his fourth star.
