Dutch basketball players have qualified for the quarter-finals in the intermediate round of the 3×3 World Cup in Antwerp. On Thursday, Chile won (21-18) and lost to Canada (12-21), meaning the Netherlands finished third in Group D behind Spain and Canada.
Lithuania will play the intermediate round next Saturday. The quarterfinals will also be held on the same day.
Two days ago, women in Belgium came into action for the first time with varying degrees of success. Israel (17-11) was defeated, but Spain (9-22) proved too strong.
There are four groups of five countries for men and women at the World Cup. The group winners go straight to the quarter-finals. In the group stage, the numbers two and three play an intermediate round.
The tournament in Antwerp will run until Sunday, when the semi-finals, consolation final and finals will be played.
