ALFREDO MORELOS received the international call-up from Colombia for the World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Venezuela.
The Rangers striker was in the last squad of his country, but was banned from matches against Argentina and Peru.
This resulted in a nightmare journey for Morelos, who missed Rangers’ Premiership match against Celtic, in which Ange Postecoglou’s side lost 3-0.
Morelos will face a quick turnaround to return to Rangers’ clash with Celtic on 3 April. He will likely face Venezuela on March 30 before returning to Glasgow.
Regarding Morelos’ appeal last month, Van Bronckhorst said: “Obviously you don’t want to lose players during the season, but we have to stick to the FIFA calendar rules.
“As a club we can’t do anything. It was a shame both for him and for us as a club that he wasn’t on the team.
“He has been off the pitch for two weeks but has not taken part in matches. I don’t know if he will be in the squad for the match against Argentina.
It is very difficult that he is not in the squad and Morelos does not have minutes with his country. Especially for Morelos himself.
