The mayor, José Carlos Rolo, thanked the well-known Italian team and “a sports personality as renowned as José Mourinho” for their presence.
The mayor stressed that the presence of AS Roma demonstrates “the recognition of the importance that Albufeira has been acquiring in the sports tourism scene, thanks to the quality of its sports facilities and the excellence of its hotels”.
The Chamber of Albufeira estimates that the arrival of the Italian delegation next week will have around 80 elements, including players, coaching staff, doctor, changing rooms and managers, according to the municipality.
The Vice President of the City Council, Cristiano Cabrita, stressed that the presence of the Italian team will have “a direct impact on the local economy, since it enhances the Albufeira brand at a national and international level, especially in Italy.” .
