French striker Kylian Mbappe did not join Paris Saint-Germain’s group on Saturday for his team’s first league game against Clermont due to an adductor problem, the club said on Friday.
The player, who chose to renew a few months ago at the club he joined five years ago, will remain in the French capital, the entity said, which will issue a new medical report within 72 hours.
Mbappe already missed the French Super Cup last weekend, in which his team had to play against Nantes in Tel Aviv, because of a penalty.
The team has its main pillars, including the first three signings of this season, Hugo Ekikike, Nordi Mukiele and Vitinha, although not the fourth, Renato Sanches, announced this Thursday, and who still needs time to recover his form.
The coach himself, Christophe Galtier, pointed out on Thursday that the Portuguese was not yet in shape to make his debut with the squad.
