These are the 32 qualified for the Copa Sudamericana group stage

Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela already know the clubs that will represent them in the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana, which starts on April 5 with 32 formations.

The twenty-first edition of the tournament was in its first phase, which concluded with seven games this Thursday, with teams from the same country facing each other, except those from Argentina and Brazil.

The sixteen winners advanced to the group stage and a minimum of two teams from each federation will compete along with the six clubs from Argentina and six teams from Brazil, as well as the four eliminated from the third phase of the Copa Libertadores.

THE 6 FROM ARGENTINA AND THE 6 FROM BRAZIL

The teams that will compete in the group stage for Argentina are Banfield, Defensa y Justicia, Independiente, Lanús, Racing Club and Unión. On the Brazilian side are Atlético Goianiense, Santos, Ceará, Internacional, Sao Paulo and Cuiabá.

THE 16 COMING FROM THE FIRST PHASE

Classified for the group round are the Bolivians Oriente Petrolero and Jorge Wilstermann; for Chile, Union La Calera and Antofagasta; for Colombia, Independiente Medellín and Junior; for Ecuador, Liga de Quito and Nueve de Octubre; for Paraguay, General Caballero and Guaireña; for Peru, Melgar and Ayacucho; for Uruguay, River Plate and Wanderers; and for Venezuela, Metropolitanos and La Guaira.

THE FOUR ELIMINATED FROM THE LIBERTADORES

The teams that received a “consolation” award, as they were eliminated in the third edition of the Copa Libertadores and will now compete in the South American Cup, are the Brazilian Fluminense, the Chilean Everton and the Ecuadorian Barcelona and Universidad Católica.

THE TRIP

The draw for the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana will take place on March 25 at the Conmebol headquarters in Luque (Paraguay), along with the same copy of the Copa Libertadores.
