Junior’s ranking to the Colombia Cup semi-finals, which saw Atlético Nacional knocked out at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, provided moments that fans will remember for a long time to come.
That is why when the game ended, social networks did not wait and started to release various memes that humorously framed some of the events that took place.
The one who suffered most from these ‘charges’ from the Atletico fans was midfielder Jarlan Barrera, who at the time of the – dubious – run-up with Sebastián Viera was given a penalty for Nacional.
The Uruguayan goalkeeper grabbed the ball and threw it to the samarium and said “kick it yourself”, but the midfielder answered nothing, forcing Jefferson to collect Duque from the 12 steps. This caused a shower of memes against the former Junior footballer, who was showered with all sorts of criticism from the “Shark” followers, largely because of the attitude and statements he has for the currambero team, which debuted as a professional.

In addition, the other images referred to the actual playing time, one of the complaints that Alexánder Mejía made at a press conference after the game, for which he was also the target of memes.
The traditional derision of the Junior fans for that of Nacional was also seen on social networks, especially in the publications of the Antioquia team, which featured the comments of the rojiblancos followers in large numbers.

It’s the second time this semester that fans have made memes of Jarlan and Nacional’s players. In the first leg, when it was 3-0, an image of Barrera on the verge of tears on the substitution bench went viral and several messages were immediately posted on social networks.
With his semi-final qualifiers more than confirmed, Junior will now focus on what will be key against Unión Magdalena in the ‘Clásico Costeño’, a showdown starting next week in Barranquilla and finishing in Santa Marta.
