I can’t be for Robert Farah and Juan Sebastián Cabal this time. The 2019 US Open champions fell to the pair consisting of Briton Joe Salisbury and American Rajeev Ram, the current number one in the world doubles ranking, in a couples semi-final to be defined in three sets.
The Colombian doubles failed to make it to their fourth ‘grand’ final together after failing to bounce back from the match they started out losing and which would eventually end with a final result of 7-5, 4-6 and 7 – 6.
Both pairs defended their services firmly in the first setalthough the rivals of the Colombians were a bit more solid and at the end of this set they managed to break the serve of Cabal and Farah and managed to win 7-5.
The Colombians came out in the second set with all the momentum that characterizes them and managed to get a triple chance in the first game to break the serve of Ram and Salisbury, but they failed.
Something they would do in the third gamewhen they would overcome them after entering the deuce and take the advantage to make it 2-1 with a serve in favor. After that, they would keep the margin and take the second set 6-4.
