These are the new rules to be introduced in the Major Leagues in 2023

The Major leagues announced this Friday that new rules will come into play from the 2023 season: a clock for pitchers, restrictions on defensive adjustments (squads) and larger bases.

In a note published on the official website of the MLB, they explain that the new changes have been approved after a series of tests Small competitions. The study was made by the newly formed Joint Competition Committee, where they voted this Friday to implement the new changes.

In addition, the note states that the main purpose of these rules is “improve the game tempo and safety at the major league level.” The three rules mentioned were the only proposals the committee has made to MLB, which consists of four active players, six MLB-appointed members, and one umpire.
