Death of Queen Elizabeth II

the death of Queen Elizabeth II it is one of those events that mark an era and that in the social era ‘must’ necessarily be commented on by everyone, in all corners of the world and regardless of their status. Whether a head of government or a neighbor, the post inevitably clicks: it is impossible to remain indifferent to the disappearance of Elizabeth, who with her 70 years of reign was the protagonist of decades of planetary history.

And that’s why too Mario Balotellifrom Switzerland, where he is now, after moving from Adana Demirspor to Zion, thought he should address a thought to the sovereign who disappeared on Thursday at the age of 96. He did this by posting an Instagram story: a black and white photo of Elizabeth, with a red heart and a thank you message. “Thank you for what you have done for England and the world, an example of justice, love and peace“, wrote the 32-year-old Brescia striker.

Words that, however, did not please some, which must have reminded Balotelli of the difficult – sometimes bloody – transition of the UK from its colonial and imperial past, which Elizabeth found herself having to manage immediately after her coronation in 1953. And so Super Mario deleted the postreplacing it with a simple black and white photo of the Queen and the word RIP, or “rest in peace“.

Then Balotelli published another story, making it clear why he had removed the first one and clarifying his thinking on the matter.: “The Queen is dead and of course I know what they did to Africa! But first I’m just showing respect to a person who died, so let’s try to be mentally superior. I love you all“.

With the Elisabetta case closed, the former Azzurri is ready for his second match for Sion, after his debut last Saturday in the last half hour of the match, with a 2-1 victory over Basel. Today the Canton of Valais team will face St. Gallen, at the home of the current leader of the table. It is necessary to return to the ranking that sees Sion in fifth place: confidence in Balotelli is maximum.
