The ‘companion mode’, the new WhatsApp mode

Whatsapp has launched a new mode in its beta version: the ‘companion mode’ feature that allows you to connect two phones to use the same account on two devices at the same time. WABetaInfo reported that the first Android tests are available thanks to the update.

To connect two phones you have to follow a process similar to WhatsApp Web, but in the additional electronic product you have to click on ‘Connect device’ in the options menu. The display then shows a QR code that needs to be scanned on the primary mobile device to link the WhatsApp account and so you’re signed in on both devices.

It should be noted that it is not necessary to work with the mobile phone switched on and one of the advantages of “companion mode” is that you can use both phones independently and they can, in fact, synchronize the respective chats. And not only that, you can also link an account on four devices at the same time.

Sharing connected devices Conversation history and Messages are not available to anyone outside the conversation. At the moment there is no specific date for its application to all users, but it will most likely be applied in the coming months.

WABetaInfo informs you about another new feature which consists of offering chats with itself. Users need to look up your number in their contact list and initiate a conversion on their own. This way you can save memories and files in this chat.
