Welcome to TechCrunch Exchange, a weekly newsletter for startups and markets. It is inspired by the TechCrunch+ daily column from which it takes its name. Every Saturday in your inbox? Sign here.
As we approach the end of the year, I thought it would be a good time to talk to some of the people looking at the transaction flow in 2022 and looking for indicators of what could happen in 2023.
Please note this newsletter is paused until January 7, 2023. Thank you for reading since I took over Alex in May. Looking forward to writing more posts in the new year! 🇧🇷 ann
An update on Dealflow newsletters
I wrote an article in May about Dealflow newsletters, which are designed to help investors discover exciting new companies without leaving their inboxes. Given how the global startup investment market has changed (shrunk) in 2022 and how media companies are struggling, we’re curious to see how the projects we heard about earlier this year are doing. So we signed up and caught up with the founder of the Dealflow newsletter. Now preconfigured Martin SFP Bryant.
He shared the following updates:
From early May to early December, PreSeed Now profiled over 50 early stage B2B and deep tech startups from across the UK. It stimulates business flow. Many startups report that technology investors have shown interest through hedging. Startups also hired employees and aroused extra media attention with their performance. In terms of actual investment generated, it’s a little harder to measure at this point, but I’ll do some research as we approach the newsletter’s first anniversary in May 2023.
