Crypto makes you more attractive, according to new research from Binance

In true Valentine’s Day style, we’re diving into love… what about cryptocurrencies?

According to a new study from Binance, the world’s largest blockchain by trading volume, cryptocurrencies can positively impact one’s attractiveness. Yes absolutely.

About 83% of respondents said liking cryptocurrencies was an “attractive quality in a relationship”, while 70% said they would be more likely to date if they found out they were interested in cryptocurrencies.

But only about 38% of respondents said their partner is as interested and passionate about cryptocurrencies as they are, while 27% self-congratulate themselves on introducing their partner to the wild world of the web3.

This growing positive sentiment contrasts sharply with the market’s gloomy outlook; Many cryptocurrencies continue to decline significantly from year to year. But as some of the major cryptocurrencies have posted mild gains recently, with bitcoin and ethereum up around 30% and 23% respectively since the start of the year, there is renewed hope from market participants across the industry.

And that trust can also translate into Valentine’s gifts, according to the report. About 83% of respondents said they would rather have a “crypto gift card” than flowers or chocolate for the holidays.

Americans plan to spend $25.9 billion on Valentine’s Day this year, up 8% from last year’s $23.9 billion, according to a survey by the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights & Analytics.

“Valentine’s Day is a special time to shop for the people we care about most,” NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay said in a statement. “As consumers are eager to spend on friends and loved ones this year, retailers are willing to help customers celebrate Valentine’s Day with memorable gifts at affordable prices.”

According to the Binance report, one of these memorable gifts is the purchase of cryptocurrencies.

Take these results with a grain of salt, of course. The global survey, conducted earlier this month on the Binance voting platform, had 2,600 respondents (both Binance users and non-users) between the ages of 18 and 46.

While that number doesn’t fully encompass the billions of people around the world, it could indicate a change in attitude for anyone looking to find love or love in the crypto space.
