Canva is launching a new paid plan for universities and colleges

Canva, the online graphic design platform, today launched Canva for Campus, a new paid subscription for universities and colleges. Subscription gives students, faculty, staff, and campus administrators access to the full Canva tool suite, including professional and educational templates such as reports, presentations, and other documents, as well as millions of images, videos, audio files, infographics, and more.

Canva for Campus is now available to all higher education institutions worldwide. It was already available to select schools, including Dartmouth College, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Redlands.

Subscription is essentially a Teams version of Canva released in August 2022. It has the same features as Teams, but targets schools and universities. This includes the full visual toolset such as B. Canva Docs, Canva Websites, Canva Whiteboards and Data Visualization.

With Canva for Campus, students, faculty, staff, and other departments are organized into “teams.” Each team gets 1 TB of storage space. Team members can brainstorm with the whiteboard collaboration tool, create content such as group projects or conferences, and provide real-time feedback, share, edit and review with text annotations or visual stickers – all in one place.

New subscription prices vary based on the overall size of the student body. Cameron Adams, co-founder and chief product officer at Canva, told TechCrunch that users only pay for Team accounts, and students get free access once a certain limit of Team licenses are purchased. For example, if a college or university has 5,000 students and they purchase 60 employee licenses, all those students will have free access.
